Divorce Support, Healing, Rebuild Your Life

The Truth About Divorce Recovery

Divorce Recovery

Do you have those days when you just feel tired and all alone? Those days when you feel broken and frustrated because of the unanswered questions in your mind about your divorce. I have. It is all apart of the divorce recovery process.

Brokenness is a feeling that everyone dreads to feel. We ask ourselves, why did this happen to me? Do I deserve to be broken?

The answer is that brokenness happens to all of us at some point in our lives. It’s a universal feeling that allows us to empathize with others and understand their pain. Brokenness also allows us to grow as individuals and become stronger in Christ.

Like we are shown in many examples throughout the Bible, if we are going to step into a more Christ-like version of ourselves we have to strip away what is not serving the Kingdom to make room for what God really has for you.

So, it is good to pause for a moment to let yourself take in what God is doing in this moment of pain.  Just like all your past pain and challenges God has carried you through them and you come out stronger and closer to Him on the other side.  As easy as it is to focus on the pain it is comforting to know that pain is a way to true understanding and healing.

Using Our Challenges In Divorce Recovery

Our trials serve a purpose – they help us to become more reliant on God. As mortal people, we are limited in what we can do on our own. But when we rely on God, we tap into a power that knows no bounds.

As it says in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

You Are Not Alone In Your Divorce Recovery
